Here are general answers to common questions new clients tend to ask about weight loss hypnosis and working with Donna.

The answer is it depends on many factors.  Typically I see weight loss clients for about 6 sessions.  Often these clients continue monthly.  This is not required, just an option for some.

The first session is 2 hours and subsequent sessions are typically 60 minutes to 75 minutes.  You will never feel rushed.

Hypnosis sessions provided by certified hypnotists are NOT covered by insurance. Sometimes they will be covered with a flexible spending account.

It all begins with a careful assessment of your current habits. This includes your food preferences, stress factors, activity level and emotional state of being. We pay particular attention to how you feel, because when you feel wonderful on the inside it’s easier to choose healthy options without even thinking about it.

Hypnosis is a natural, safe, and effective approach to weight loss because there are no pills or diets.

So many people claim to struggle with the willpower to say no to extra food.  Here is the truth, willpower only consists of about 5% – 10% of your conscious minds’ resources.   If you were to drive your car on 5% of the engine’s horsepower, you would not get very far, would you? 

Let’s explain…the goal to lose weight is a long-term prize and requires higher level thinking.  Eating is associated with basic survival and not eating is associated with threat. It does not matter to the brain stem that being a healthy weight is a long-term, beneficial goal.  That is higher level thinking called understanding.  The brain stem, otherwise known as the reptilian complex follows a rigid set of rules.  Here is an example, “Food is safe, no food is not safe. Eat the food.”  No wonder why we struggle with willpower.  Hypnosis helps make it easier!

It can be very frustrating to habitually eat due to stress, boredom or other emotional reasons. There can be many reasons why people eat when not actually hungry. Sometimes it is habitual, and other times it is to distract from painful emotions, a long day  and simply to relax and have a good time. For some people, a good meal or snack is the most enjoyable part of any day.

Thankfully all of these issues can be addressed with hypnosis. Donna has experience helping people with all types of over eating and motivational issues.

Most people with weight issues overeat due to emotions.  It is a typical cycle of ‘feel bad, then distract away” from unwanted feelings.  The hypnosis will gently help you explore and understand the emotions driving the behavior.  Donna provides a safe space to explore emotions and transcend from old hurts, wounds and experiences. 

Please be ready to allow these emotions to surface during sessions. The goal is to be free from the past and create the present the way you wish.

Donna will help you to get to the root of the problem. She will address this from a variety of angles including lack of motivation, relationship with food, self image and interest in physical activity.
